New Year's Eve shouldn't just be for mom and dad! And, there’s no need for kids to stay up until midnight as New Roc’s master of ceremonies rings in the New Year early with the countdown to noon (instead of midnight) complete with a thrilling balloon release with festive, brightly-colored balloons.
For the 6th year in a row, a collaboration with the Downtown Business Improvement District (B.I.D.), tenants of New Roc City, the City of New Rochelle, and youth organizations, will result in a festive ‘Ring in the New Year at Noon!’ event for kids ages 2 – 10 and their parents. While the highlight of the event is always the thrilling count down to a 3,000+ balloon drop at noon, this year’s program will also feature a Meet and Greet with New York Ranger alumni, face painting, arts and crafts, kiddy rides, clowns, wheel of chance, games, snacks, goody bag, raffle prizes and much more! After the balloon drop families are encouraged to spend the rest of the afternoon at New Roc’s complex as well as the downtown area to start their New Year’s celebration.
The idea blossomed after much discussion was had about ways to attract the New Rochelle and surrounding communities to the downtown for a positive and uplifting experience. It is the perfect opportunity for people who have never been to New Roc City or New Rochelle to visit and experience the Queen City on the Sound. New event partners like The New York Rangers and The New Rochelle YMCA are helping to grow this event making the only daytime, family-oriented New Years Eve event in Westchester better than ever. And for those who already know the benefits of participating in this event it solidifies the idea that downtown New Rochelle is getting better and better!
Families receive free backpack goodie bags compliments of Laz Parking filled with gifts ranging from FunFuzion ride card, juice and snacks, an assortment of premium items, free kids meal vouchers from participating restaurants, discount coupons promoting area businesses and more.
