murdermysterynight-logoThe Murder Mystery Night at the Library is a fundraiser sponsored by the NRPL Foundation to raise funds to keep the library up to date and better able to serve New Rochelle's diverse community and will take place on October 29, 2016. Proceeds from this event will enable us to develop resources as well as programming to inspire our young people, engage their minds and spark potential career aspirations through a state-of–the-arts digital media center and other programs that will do such things as enable youth to edit video, record music and create through 3-D printing. These are only some of the many projects envisioned by the Foundation to create "the library of the future." Others are listed on our website at www.nrplfoundation.org

While the event itself requires purchase of a ticket, the benefits of sponsorship are reflected in what the Foundation will be able to provide the entire community as a result of a successful fundraiser. Also, as a sponsor, NR Future will play a central role in this event and be able to demonstrate support for a vibrant, strong library that serves the needs of our very diverse community.

The budget:

We have hired a mystery theater group who will be helping us to structure the event and we have signed on 10 well-known community leaders who will play the role of suspects. We also have put together an fantastic auction of very special one of a kind items. A committee of more than 40 people have also signed on to help with the event. The response from everyone we have told about the event has thus far been highly enthusiastic. Everyone loves the library and all it does for the community.
