New Rochelle has tremendous potential to become premier destination for the arts in Westchester.  The installation of a fine art / performing arts center and children’s museum could be the Queen city’s “jewel in the crown.”  Such a destination could offer classes for adults and children host famous artists and musicians and showcase up-and-coming talent.  Lastly, such a center would offer Westchester families a place to take their children that is close to home and offers the same amenities one might find at the Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk, CT or the Children’s Museum of Manhattan.
The center would also present the opportunity to highlight many of New Rochelle’s famous artistic residents including Norman Rockwell, Frederick Remington, Ellabelle Davis, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Eddie Foy, etc.
