After decades of failed initiatives to restore and renew New Rochelle, it is past time to empower a skilled city planner to come up with a plan that is substance, not form and to be openly transparent in telling the community what recommendations on assessment, design and development of our downtown business community and as applicable other areas, such as North Avenue that would profit by their insights and findings. If the Council fails to approve their recommendations, specific reasons must be presented to the community. Sadly Renaissance comes years later than I would have liked to see, but they can add great value if they are brave enough to point out weaknesses and constraints in City Administration that hamper or stop growth dead in its tracks.
