I am envisioning is a fully intergrated, accessible signal on all major street crossings.  The pol, curb cut, and clearly painted crosswalks with high contrast  tactile markers and count down display will meet the needs of everyone, whether the person is blind, deaf, blind/deaf, using a wheelchair/walker, or has limited cognition.

Also, public buildings should also include universal design so we can age into our community. Baby boomers like me will have visual problems as well as physical issues and incorporating universal ideas now will keep us independent and safe as we age.
